INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

St. Justin Foundation is dedicated to creating teaching and learning environments that are inclusive of children and youth with disabilities. We focus on enhancing inclusive education by providing resources, engaging parents and caregivers, and garnering community support. Our efforts also aim to improve regulatory frameworks that promote enrollment, Referral System retention, transition, and educational outcomes for children with disabilities.

We facilitate the education of children with disabilities by enrolling them in nearby inclusive schools or, when necessary, in boarding schools. Many of the children we serve attend various government schools, including Nyarigamba "A" Primary School, where they are taught all subjects, including sign language to enhance communication within the community. We ensure that these children have a supportive learning environment and receive supervision while at school. Upon completing their primary education, those who pass are encouraged to pursue further studies in ordinary secondary education, advanced secondary education, colleges, or universities. For those who do not continue with formal education, St. Justin Foundation provides vocational training, either through referrals to Vocational technical colleges or by offering entrepreneurship education in skills such as tailoring, Welding and carpentry at our training workshops. These programs are designed to empower children with the skills they need to become self-reliant.

We have significantly improved the learning environment for inclusive education, particularly in early childhood education, by establishing a model classroom for children with disabilities who face barriers to accessing schools due to their conditions or the lack of suitable infrastructure. This classroom is equipped with teaching tools that cater specifically to Inclusive Play-based Early Childhood Education (IPECE). One of our key initiatives is early identification of disabilities, which allows children to receive appropriate educational interventions and can prevent the development of their disabilities. Through our IPECE model, children aged three and older learn through play, promoting their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

Additionally, St. Justin Foundation focuses on a Home Schooling Program in Collaboration of Liliane Foundation and Nyarigamba "A" Primary School. This initiative enables us to educate children with disabilities who, due to their challenges, cannot attend school. Our goal is to ensure that all children receive an education, representing the principle of "Education for All.
